I noted a very interesting article posted on cq today about the kissell/hayes race. it seems very possibe for kissell to in the year's biggest upset. hoever the article seems a bit confusing. it says hayes lost 150 votes as of wednesday. the article also states the edge hayes has is 329, but i wonder if this 150 votes really means its like less than a 200 vote lead for hayes. anyone from kissell's camp knows. below is part of the article. cq thinks kissel can pull this off..
The day before Election Day Rick Perry I believe has finally hit the all time low. I wish Perry made it a week ago as I think these comments are very damaging, at least to us Texans who are not of the brand of christianity Perry ascribes to. The DMN reports Perry agreeing that those who do not accept Christ will go to hell. This is terrible intolerance for a man who is governor of a state with Jews, Muslims, and so many other faiths. I plan to email this story to the local Houston media as I think the voters deserve to hear this one before they pull the lever. This is scary. Im Jewish, so guess the Guv thinks Im going to hell. Oh I hope he loses a shickng defeat by Dem Chris Bell tommorrow. More below..
On election eve I feel great uneasiness with, at the same time, exitablity. a historic election is upon us. but this ap story caught my eye and is highly alarming. election machine recording cards have gone missing in a critical county Ford needs. And guess who is investigating the matter in this county-why Corker campaign co-chairs. I think the Justice Dept. needs to get down there immediately-and harold ford is asking so. this is outrageous. When will this country every get around to mandating a verifiable ballot? six years after bush v. gore and it seems things are just as bad. we all work so hard in these elections for change-it is a shame we have to lose votes to unsecure machines, new unmeetable voter i.d. laws in 12 states etc.. yes mr. ford, get the Justice Dept to Tenn. asap. soemthing is foul here...
I just caught this on the reuters-apparently saddam may not face verdict on nov 5th. bush may not get his election eve surprise or whatever. it sounds like, from this article, the iraqi govt is under great pressure to have the verdict before the midterms so bush can get a "bounce." a important story to watch in the comming days.....
I recall much chatter about Bush's comments about Jews back in Texas during the 1990s. However I thought it was old news. I did call Gore's folks in 2000 about it and asked that these comments be highlighted by the campaign, but alas.. However Rawstory has a story up on Bush's comments. Maybe this news is not so old after all. Here are some of his fantastic quotes on Jewry:
I, like so many of you, have been gravely concerned by the tactics used by the GOP against African Americans in the past elections. I just happened to be reading this BBC report on GOP memos directing folks to employ the dirtiest tricks imaginable on our fellow americans, including our servicemen and women. When will the DNC do more than studies on this issue that deprives thousands of americans of their right to vote. It is time for much to be done-I feel like a broken record on this. For example-How can the democratic party expect the loyalty of black voters if their vote cannot be guaranteed or even fought for by the party that has benefited so much from the hard electoral work of black americans. Maybe we need a third party focused on the right to vote since so little seems to be done about it?
hi wow-
just read this on politicalwire.com-sherrod brown will challenge dewine. this is great news. the gop is going down!!!!!!!!!!! hotline is the one with the scoop-
FEMA is a miserable failure, we can agree on that. houston only got a glancing blow, but int the days prior to landfall houston/galveston was under the gun. millions fled. rita killed more than alicia, the last big one to hit houston. except-30 people were killed prior to the storm trying to flee. in alicia 23 died in the storm. a friend on mine fled a day prior to the storm's expected landfall. he, like so many, faced heat stroke or worse. on his way back in the 100 plus degree he bring's us this story of his experience. one I feel deserves attention, and there is plenty like it. more on the flip....
hi
I live in houston tx. Ive blogged here for years. my family has had a grueling experience with rita. trying to figure out where in the hell to go, the forcasts keep changing like every2 hours. no one here knows what to do that isnt on the coast.

hi-
have any of you just heard this on CNN? The statements were at 12pm cst that sen harry reid is urging an investigation into Bush's vacation and whether it compromised saving souls in Katrina. I thought I heard wrong , but the reporter stated it again. id like to see a written statement from Reid's office on this. And wow-Pelosi really is giving Bush hell. She basically called Bush unfit to lead. She said she asked from Brown to be dumped and Bush wont let him go. The GOP is apparently angry. They arent used to be so openly attacked by our leaders in this. Oh if we could get clips etc posted that woud be awesome..........
Hi
I havent posted in a while, really since the 2004 Ohio debacle. Im in Houston, been at the George R Brown with all the food and clothes I can give and buy. The emotional toll living in a city swarming with so many displaced is growing. Our city has grown by 150,000 in one week. WHie the human tragedy unfolds , and thousands die from the negligence of our govt, we must also remember the other victims: animals, pets. Pets can become our best friends. SOmetimes they are really all people have.
hmmmmmmmmmmm-
quorumreport. com just reported that Kay Baily Hutchinson will NOT challenge Rick Perr for guv. she will seek re-election in the US Senate. wow. if true Im stunned. she'd be a strong guv candidate for sure. anymore on this news?
hi
I thought this is very important political news for texans and otherts nationally. looks like comptroller carol keeton strayhorn will challenge gov. rick perry for governor. but--will she run as a repub? texas monthly rumors that she will switch parties. strayhorn is probably the most moderate, independant politco in statewide office here. she will run one hell of a race...
hi--
just caught this. Sen Kay Bailey looks very likely to challenge gop guv rick perry in 2006. what a hell of a nasty race ahead. let us hope we dems can get a pick up.
